Volvo Penta V-belts

A V-belt or drive belt drives the alternator to charge the battery and prevents overheating from driving the water pump. It is important that this part has the correct voltage so that it can function optimally.

Replace V-belt

The belt must therefore be checked regularly (20 sailing hours) for tension, cracks and wear. The V-belt is tensioned when it cannot be pushed in more than 1 cm. The original Volvo Penta V-belts are made of a special rubber compound and structure for extra long life. If a v-belt or v-belt is not replaced in the correct frequency, this will result in a lower charging current for the battery, reduced coolant circulation and extra wear on the belt itself.
